In the world of design, awards have always been a beacon of recognition.
They stand as a testament to the hard work, creativity, and ingenuity that goes into crafting a visual identity which will resonate and connect a brand with the desired audience.
It is with immense pride that we announce the inclusion of six of our logo designs in the prestigious LogoLounge Book 14. For each edition of the book, a panel of judges chooses from thousands of logo designs and the association subsequently publishes a book showcasing the “best of the best”.
Each of these designs tells a unique story, reflecting the heart and soul of the businesses they represent. Join us as we take a closer look at these award-winning logos.
*NB: Winning logos are all the “mark” versions of a full branding suite.
Diving into the Designs: Unveiling the Stories Behind Our Featured Logos
Logo 1:
CLIENT: Black Bear Healing Home
Queen Anne’s Lace Bear
Our first featured logo is designed for a sign language school. As requested by our client in their creative brief, it beautifully combines a bear motif with Queen Anne’s Lace flowers, creating a harmonious visual representation of learning and growth.
The bear symbolizes strength and resilience, while the delicate flowers represent the intricate nature of sign language. This logo is a testament to the power of communication and the importance of inclusivity.
Logo 2:
CLIENT: The Governance Boutique
Empowering Success in the Professional Realm
The second winning logo was developed for a business specializing in providing services tailored for high-level professionals aspiring to attain board positions.
The logo mark features a tall poppy, an enduring symbol of accomplishment, triumph over adversity, and the pinnacle of success. This distinctive design is seamlessly integrated with a business name also crafted here at Sumack Loft, a pivotal component of the comprehensive branding process.
Logo 3:
CLIENT: Mama Milne Creations
the dancing mouse
A small quilt designer needed a logo that would reflect their quirky personality and creativity. We delivered just that with a logo featuring a dancing mouse whose long tail resembles thread.
This playful and charming design captures the essence of the quilter’s craft, where every stitch tells a story. It’s a logo that celebrates individuality and the joy of creating beautiful things.
Logo 4:
CLIENT: Petawawa Public Library
Fostering Curiosity and Community
Our logo for a rural library celebrates the joy of reading and community engagement. Within a circular motif, a bear is depicted engrossed in a book, inviting all to come and share in the world of literature.
This design embodies the library’s commitment to providing fun and engaging programs for the entire community, from babies to seniors – fostering a love for knowledge, storytelling, and the great outdoors.
Logo 5:
CLIENT: The Reunion
A Project to Create and Reconnect
Branding for a lifestyle blog that focuses on creating and reconnecting, this identity features an oak leaf with two halves stitched together, representing the past, the present, and the future.
This logo is a visual metaphor for the blog’s content, which explores the journey of personal growth and self-discovery. It encourages readers to reflect on their own life stories and the connections they form along the way.
Logo 6:
CLIENT: Flynn Log Homes
The Eagle and the Roof Beam
The final winning design is for a log home builder, and captures the essence of strength and precision. As requested in our client’s creative brief, a bald eagle soars gracefully, carrying a log destined to become a roof beam for one of their beautiful log homes.
This visual identity symbolizes the craftsmanship, dedication, and natural harmony that define log home construction. It’s a tribute to the majesty of nature and the artistry of our client’s work.
