Crooked Mile Brewing Company Craft Beer Labels: Crow’s Castle. Art direction, design, and illustration for a microbrewery in Almonte, Ontario. Crooked Mile commissioned me to create illustrations for each of their flagship beers based on vistas the owners fell in love with during a walking tour in the UK. Crow’s Castle is a Welsh Best Bitter featuring the “Dinas Bran”, or Crow’s Castle, sitting atop a tall hill in Wales, with the requisite murder of crows wheeling and soaring all around.

Crooked Mile Brewing Company Craft Beer Labels: Highland Hillwalker. Art direction, design, and illustration for a microbrewery in Almonte, Ontario. Crooked Mile commissioned me to create illustrations for each of their flagship beers based on vistas the owners fell in love with during a walking tour in the UK. Highland Hillwalker is a Scottish Export featuring a vista of Glen Coe with hikers greeting each other on the trail with a wee Scottish “coo” looking on.

Crooked Mile Brewing Company Craft Beer Labels: Black Dog. Art direction, design, and illustration for a microbrewery in Almonte, Ontario. Crooked Mile commissioned me to create illustrations for each of their flagship beers based on vistas the owners fell in love with during a walking tour in the UK. Black Dog is a Dry Stout and shows a mysterious dog appearing out of the mists and fog of the dark eerie moorside.

Crooked Mile Brewing Company Craft Beer Labels: Druid’s Dusk. Art direction, design, and illustration for a microbrewery in Almonte, Ontario. Crooked Mile commissioned me to create illustrations for each of their flagship beers based on vistas the owners fell in love with during a walking tour in the UK. Druid’s Dusk is an Irish Red and features an ancient hill fort from the iron age against a panoramic vista of distant hills and water; a furtive and mischievous fox prowls cautiously into the frame on the right.

Crooked Mile Brewing Company Craft Beer Labels: Standing Stone. Art direction, design, and illustration for a microbrewery in Almonte, Ontario. Crooked Mile commissioned me to create illustrations for each of their flagship beers based on vistas the owners fell in love with during a walking tour in the UK. Standing Stone is an English IPA and features a short-eared owl swooping into the frame with a backdrop of the curious standing stones found all over Great Britain and a glorious summer sunset.

Eko Solar Engine: Art direction and design of illustration/infographic showing the component parts of the passive house building solution offered at EkoBuilt. A passive house is powered by the sun and requires no furnace, allowing its residents to live off grid if required, thus the illustration has been designed in such a way as to convey a wealth of information in a quick and simple way.

“Aspen” Graphic: This delightful illustration was commissioned by a lovely man as a thank you to a friend teaching him how to ride. He is obviously very captivated with his equine companion as he insisted on having the design match the horse exactly — right down to that charming heart on her shoulder. No really!

Personal Injury Law – Erbs Palsy Illustrations: Design and development of 5 illustrations depicting various facets of Erbs palsy for use in diverse applications such as company website, Powerpoint presentations, and social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), as well as possible print use and larger screen displays. Client requested a very straightforward rendering of the subject with a natural, soft, gentle, and respectful style, not graphic or disturbing in any way.

Naked Composer – Glorius II / The Open Field: Art direction, concept, and production of illustrative campaign for musical endeavour. Illustration developed to back up idea of Naked Composer depicts man lying in grass surrounded by various elements that seem to be manifestations of the music inside his head. Each element is to be released as cover art with a song once a month until all 12 songs have been published, at which point, any patron who has purchased the complete set receives an electronic copy of the full illustration which they can print out.
