Auni’s bio, or, where have I been all your life?
My alma mater was the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art in Bourges, France. I studied visual arts and learned a lot about colour theory and composition, while studying artists and art through the ages. I like to think that my background in fine arts helps me bring a unique artistic aesthetic to my graphic design work.
I started out about a billion years ago as a tee shirt designer in Toronto, and from there moved to designing patterns for ski hats. No, really. That’s an actual thing. At that point I branched off and started my own business, learning the ropes of logo and brand design, composition and layout for print, and of course how to design a really great, easy to navigate website.
And so on…
Since those early years, I’ve accumulated over 20 years of graphic design experience and am a practised hand at logo and brand development, advertising and marketing collateral, corporate communications, direct mail, point of purchase materials, and illustration.
I’ve been fortunate to be able to work in multiple industries; including but not limited to corporate communications, financial, education, food services, health care, retail, scientific/medical equipment, First Nations, real estate, Canadian government projects, and not-for-profit.
I feel strongly about the importance of creating an engaging, intuitive, and stimulating user experience through design, and believe that I possess an outstanding ability to produce compelling visual presentations that will immediately grab the intended audience and make them sit up and take notice!
